A group of about 300 PAS supporters gathered outside the US embassy in Kuala Lumpur today to protest the latest series of attacks against Muslims in Palestine.

Starting at about 2pm, police cordoned off a section of Jalan Tun Razak to allow demonstrators to congregate there after performing their Friday prayers at the nearby Tabung Haji mosque.

Speaking from a truck decorated with PAS and Palestine flags, PAS central committee member Norazli Musa, commonly known as “Ustad Taliban”, rallied the crowd against the shifting of the US Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

He also led the crowd in chants of “Jahanam jahanam, jahanam Amerika” (Evil America!).

“The way to teach America and Israel is not through agreements or Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), but only through jihad!” Norazli said.

Norazli also urged his supporters to emulate the bravery of Salahuddin Al-Ayubi and leadership of Umar Al-Khattab to "launch a jihad" against America and Israel.

"It is only through jihad that we can recapture Baitulmaqdis!" he charged.

Many supporters, who came after Friday prayers, were dressed in white skull caps and carried the Palestine flag.

The demonstration ended at about 3pm, and all dispersed peacefully.

Recent media reports indicated that Israeli warplanes have kept up their bombing of Gaza, raising fears the conflict could spread as Washington offered help to broker a truce.

Israel reportedly launched the Gaza offensive to stop incessant rocket fire that erupted after three Israeli teenagers were kidnapped and killed in the West Bank and a Palestinian teenager was abducted and burned to death in an apparent reprisal attack.
