Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi wishes all Malaysian Hindus a "Happy Deepavali".

He expresses the hope that the light that symbolises Deepavali will illuminate the value of reinforcing the bonds that bind Malaysians together.

"As we all know, Deepavali celebrates the triumph of good over evil. It is my hope that in celebrating the emergence of light out of darkness, you will be inspired to face the challenges ahead with faith and vigour so that you may achieve all your goals and aspirations," Abdullah says in his greetings.
