Sarawak CM denies joining Harapan
Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg has denied that the state government intends to join Pakatan Harapan.
However, he said the state government would cooperate with the federal government as certain things were still under the Putrajaya's jurisdiction.
“No (on joining Harapan)... What we will have is some sort of collaboration like what I have said in my statement before this... There must be a collaboration because certain areas are under federal (government),” he told reporters in Kuching tonight.
Abang Johari, who is also Sarawak BN chairperson, said the decision on not joining Harapan did not mean that they wanted to become a strong opposition but it was made for the benefit of the Sarawakians.
Asked on the implementation of previously announced projects, Abang Johari said those under the state government were not affected due to own funding.
“As for federal government projects, I leave (the matter) to them,” he added.
