GE14 | Ahead of the 14th general election, former minister Syed Hamid Albar has left voters with the words of famed 18th-century philosopher Edmund Burke.

The quote which Syed Hamid shared on Twitter read:"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for the good men to do nothing".

In the tweet, Syed Hamid also emphasised on the importance for "good men" to take action.

"It is (the) core principle for good men to take action for integrity (and) honesty to succeed over deceit, lies and dishonesty," he said.

In a separate Twitter posting, Syed Hamid said no intimidation will deter the people's choice.

"Now, even if warnings or (threats of) sackings are made, people have made their decisions. They do not fear or care.

"People have decided. It is a matter of the heart and mind. No prison will deter their decision," he said.

Earlier, Syed Hamid had also issued an open letter where he urged voters to vote with their conscience for a positive change.
