@Anonymous malaysia2018 : Did you not read S Arutchelvan article completely or did you fail to comprehend his central argument? You went off on a tangent with the irrelevance that had nothing to do with S Arutchelvan's or PSM's "arrogance" or his need to be Mahatma Gandhi or emulate anybody else for that matter. He simply pointed out the limits of what PSM can do. He was at least very honest. Which is more than I can you for you with your grandiose pretense in writing irrelevant bullshit. PSM has built a foundation; it has been trying to build its membership, but what are its chances in stupidly conservative, stupidly traditionalist, stupidly brainwashed, and stupidly uneducated Malaysia when you harp on about all the wrong things when he is saying exactly what I am telling you: that when it comes to leftist parties like PSM, people like you turn away from it because of its socialist program. If you prefer the cowboy capitalism of Malaysia where corruption forms its kernel, where your UMNO-BN robs you blind day and night, where your Harapan is mired in its own ridiculous self-inflicted failures, why don't you throw your wholehearted support for one of them and stop sledging a party like PSM that is being forthright with you about its agenda and its shortcomings? PSM may be old and "not grown" is a dumb claim when you failed to understand its limitations. Harapan parties are "young" run by old people long in the tooth sounds like a pathetic by typically jaundiced and unjustifiable excuse.

Sadly and regrettably, PSM is in dreamland.IF it is really strong, it should contest in all 222  Parliamentary seats. What is the point of fighting on one leg--Sungei Siput ?  IF you want to push your agenda an dget heard, go for ALL seats; and see whether you will fare well or badly. Shouting in the wilderness will not help. Usually , young people  are idealists. But we are living in a real world with real issues. We  may profess some philosophy; but philosophy is good for discussions and debates; but it does not help ordinary people with ordinary issues. Why demand  attention?  Humility , not arrogance, makes a man great. Emulate Mahatma Gandhi, the humble man of India, who won Independence from the British through non-violence.Emulate the late Nelson Mandela of South Africa who was imprisoned for 28 years. And when he became President of South Africa, he did  not show arrogance but forgiveness to the Whites.  He did not take revenge against the former White masters. Note also that in PH there were some who felt that they should be given "safe " seats!  And there were others  who showed their true colours when dropped! That is gratitude for you!Seats are limited; and in PH, there are so many from each component Party  who wish to be picked! Even among themselves there  is  a tussle for seats! So, how to accede to  PSM's  request ? Yes, you may point to ex-Bersih Maria Chin! Well, she has wide appeal, which will  help PH! So, it is pointless to whine ! As I mentioend  above, IF you are strong in many areas, go for them on  a  MASSIVE scale! Why go for one or two seats? . Why  "beg "  for seats ? Stand tall; lay your foundation. Build up a credible force. No point waking up when election is near! DAP, for example, was founded 50-odd years! PKR has been here more than 20 years.. Of course, PPBM and Amanah are young Parties . But one is  an off-shoot of Pas; and the other by ex-PM Tun Dr, Mahathir.PSM, though old, has not grown!

      ONG JIAN WIN10:57 AM, 27 Apr 2018

So has the central leadership decided to use pkr logo or not? Jayakumar is needed for Malaysia not for psm pkr dap or others. Soldiers lay down their lives for a cause. Is PSM a Malaysian soldier?

      bluechip888810:57 AM, 27 Apr 2018

We Malaysians will only vote in candidates from PH who can form a better government than this corrupt UMNO and BN.

      陈嘉茹08:49 AM, 27 Apr 2018

The only PSM seat won in ge 13 was a result of support from Pakatan then. Dr Jeya will be lucky to keep his deposit this round. The rest of seats, PSM are just donating fund to SPR!

      yeoh ah hoe08:42 AM, 27 Apr 2018

The only foot print PSM will leave for ge 14 is as a spoiler.

      yeoh ah hoe08:36 AM, 27 Apr 2018

S Arutchelvan : Thank you for the explanation of the ins and outs of PSM. It is always good to know the limitations of a party as small as yours. I do hope you can grow your base over time. Unfortunately in ultra-conservative, traditionalist, fear-mongering Malaysia where stupidity, cowardice, political and intellectual immaturity reign supreme on those issues on which PSM stands, you're not going to see your membership grow very big, if at all. The morons in this country think all outcomes are capitalist market driven. They claim to be strong on issues like income and racial inequality but they practice hypocrisy by ignoring them in their own midst. They bark loudly here but are devoid of real action where it matters most, and it's not just elections. I like Jeremy Corbyn and Labor in the UK and its stance on this hard social issues. I like that you stand on these issues as your core principles. I wish you the best, and you have my ideological support at the very least, even if you will not be able to make a dent in the politics of this racist country and its racist people. Ignore the small-minded, tunneled vision  Malaysians who think otherwise of you. They're largely uneducated.

      Yap Chun Kiat07:47 AM, 27 Apr 2018

ARUTCHELVAN, if we don't make it this time, we will not see the light at the end of the tunnel, for a long long time. And also I didn't see you out on the streets after GE13.

      Tan Wen Jern07:22 AM, 27 Apr 2018

@Anonymous 568201438363345 : Your ignorance, immaturity and stupidity is astoundingly vapid.

      Yap Chun Kiat07:20 AM, 27 Apr 2018

Malaysia Falling You’re HelpingYou’re a traitor.... Podah Myre.

      Tye Gee Soon07:10 AM, 27 Apr 2018

Using UK analogies to justify your actions. Hilarious! Saying people are missing the big picture, more like you are clouded by your own greed and need to have your seat that you’re willing to risk those which have already been guaranteed.

      PETRICIO06:37 AM, 27 Apr 2018

Wasting time. PSM will not win a single seat. You will even lose Sg Siput to MIC SK Davamany. All your candidates may also donate their deposits to EC.

      Yenfye Yap06:09 AM, 27 Apr 2018

I think your arguments are valid - your timing not so. the general populace sees PH as the way to bring about change - so despite being the cause for the split, the 'might is right' approach will result in ppl looking past the big guys and pinning blame on the small guys (psm). i respect what you guys stand for and the good work you do. so stand tall and win your seats. then make real change happen. all the best. the end does NOT justify the means.

      Edmund06:07 AM, 27 Apr 2018

If reading this article was so onerous why bother to read it at all! The writer has every right to  make his case as an other political aspirant has and he has stated it clearly and well. I have seen more "nonsense" and chauvinistic drivel from other opposition apparatchiks than I care to remember. All is fair in love and war. Lump it or dump it!

      HO CHIN CHIN06:07 AM, 27 Apr 2018

PSM are the real traitors. We will remember you for the stupid game you are playing in this GE

      05:53 AM, 27 Apr 2018

In the perfect world, Arutchelvan is probably right. In U.K. a coalition government is only formed after the elections when parties start to horse trade. So there is no distribution of seats pre elections but a free for all to contest anywhere. But here we form partnerships before elections and so we have to horse trade seats. so real politics in Malaysia say that you would need the goodwill of a major party to give you a seat to contest if you're a minnow. PKR has been rather generous in this - allowing Sungai Siput to be contested by PSM in GE 13 and agreeing to it for GE 14. PSM isn't interested but wants to contest on its own, thereby forcing 3 cornered fights, and splitting opposition votes. It is the end game now. PH needs each and every seat to win and it rightly sees PSM as a spoiler.

      05:52 AM, 27 Apr 2018

      PSM = Parti Spoiler Malaysia.

      Chew Seen Seong05:51 AM, 27 Apr 2018

Waste of time and energy reading all this nonsense...

      Yong Chiao Meng05:48 AM, 27 Apr 2018

You are talking with the UK democracy in mind where everything is fair.  You need to change the mindset from the Govt and cannot do it from outside. No matter how much ideals you have in life it will only be useful if you can bring the same ideals to the general public.  So by opting out of the broader picture you are actually doing a dis-service to the opposition. There is still one more day to nomination.  Still time to strike a compromise. Let Dr Jayakumar stand on PKR logo as the sole PSM candidate.  Your hard work can be rewarded with senatorship and city council seats once PH comes into power.

      Pravin Kumar05:41 AM, 27 Apr 2018

Does it matter? If PSM goes kaput for the sake of greater good, just like Pekemas in the past. So?Which is important? PSM's survival or Malaysian survival
