GE14 | DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang expressed hope the popular Malaysian legend about the "Rahman" prophecy will come to an end, and be replaced with the "Mahathir" prophecy.

As legend goes, each letter in the word "Rahman" represents one prime minister.

"There is a famous saying about the first six prime ministers of Malaysia will fulfil the 'Rahman' prediction.

"So far this 'Rahman' saying has worked, with Tunku Abdul Rahman as the first prime minister, followed by Abdul Razak Hussein, Hussein Onn, Mahathir Mohamad, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib Abdul Razak.

"Let the 'Rahman' prediction run its course in the 14th general election, and maybe it would be replaced by a second prediction of 'Mahathir' for the next eight prime ministers of Malaysia," Lim said.

The first two letters of 'Mahathir', he said, can represent Mahathir himself and PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim.

"Whether the six prime ministers after Anwar will fit the second 'Mahathir' prediction, only time will tell.

Lim also reiterated that he has no ambitions to become prime minister, despite such claims by Umno.

"I understand that a high-powered and highly-funded Umno/BN demonisation campaign against me was ready to fire a new demonisation onslaught against me, portraying me as real prime minister-designate when Pakatan Harapan wins the GE14.

"I await such a demonisation assault," he said.
