The International Trade and Industry Minister Rafidah Aziz will attend the Dewan Rakyat session tomorrow, where many have been baying for her blood over the past weeks.

Deputy Minister Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah confirmed that his boss would be in the House to answer questions regarding the National Automotive Policy and the Third Industrial Masterplan.

In a Bernama report, he said MPs had already posed two questions to the ministry regarding the policy and the masterplan and they could still forward any further questions if they wanted.

"My minister (Rafidah) will be there to attend the parliament and then answer questions on the National Automotive Policy.

"MPs can forward whatever issues that they want to know about Approved Permits," he added.

He said there would be a question-and-answer session for about one hour and MPs would be at liberty to ask whatever questions they wanted.

Rafidah, a veteran politician, was thrust into the limelight when former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad opened the can of worms on the AP issue.

He had claimed that the distribution of these permits was affecting the market of national car manufacturer Proton.

Mahathir, who is now Proton's adviser, also wondered aloud how certain individuals were able to secure thousands of permits

Following this, Rafidah was bombarded with criticisms and there were even calls for her to resign.

Her absence from the Dewan Rakyat had also irked Opposition Leader Lim Kit Siang, who wanted her dropped from the cabinet.

Last week, the cabinet directed her to explain the matter to the House.
