It is amusing and worrying that a boy from a reality show gets so much coverage in the mainstream press but malaysiakini.

This whole reality-show hero worship, based on the contestant's background and moral behaviour despite being mediocre at singing, is reflective of how under developed some minds are.

Malay Malaysian kids, and adults it seems, are easy prey to such trivia. One wonders why. Are there not enough awe inspiring things in the world that Mawi and the whole reality brigade become something of national significance? Read a book for a change or at least watch a documentary. Making it political is a joke at best.

Well, the commercial machinery that markets reality shows are certainly laughing all the way to the bank. Treat this as what it is: trivial mush. It is not some kind of phenomenon by any stretch.
