Selangor PKR is not in talks with PAS, deputy state PKR chief Zuraida Kamaruddin insists.

"There are no seat negotiations with PAS," Zuraida told Malaysiakini.

The Ampang MP was responding to her allies who alleged that Selangor Pakatan Harapan chief Mohamed Azmin Ali's continued efforts to woo PAS had stalled formal seat negotiations for the coming 14th general election.

However, Zuraida said, there have already been six formal meetings on seat negotiations among Harapan parties in Selangor.

She said two of the meetings were Selangor Harapan leadership council meetings chaired by Azmin, while four election meetings chaired by state coalition election director Dr Xavier Jeyakumar have also been held.

Asked if Azmin would call another meeting to discuss seat negotiations to resolve the matter by month end, the Wanita PKR chief only replied "InsyaAllah."

As for claims that PKR wanted PAS and Umno seats that Amanah and Bersatu were eyeing, Zuraida said this would be based on "winnability."

PAS has a special relationship with PKR in Selangor.

Despite the Islamist party having severed ties with PKR last year, it continues to be part of the Selangor state government.

Azmin said this was to continue with the mandate given by the people in 2013.
