If convicted, the 35-year-old Chinese national faces a maximum jail term of 20 years and whipping.

Huang was allowed bail of RM50,000, with two Malaysian sureties, by Sessions judge Wan Mohd Norisham Wan Yaakob.
The judge ordered Huang to surrender his passport and for him to report to the nearest police station, twice a month.
The court also ordered Huang not to approach or disturb the victim, or otherwise the bail would be revoked.
