Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi held talks Wednesday with Saudi King Abdullah during a brief visit to the kingdom, the official SPA news agency reported.

It said the talks covered "developments on the Islamic and international scenes, chiefly the Palestinian issue and the situation in Iraq, in addition to prospects of cooperation between the two countries and ways of boosting them in all fields."

Badawi later left the Red Sea city of Jeddah, SPA said.

Malaysia currently chairs the 57-member Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), which plans to hold an extraordinary summit in the holy city of Mecca later this year in response to a call by the Saudi monarch.
