While the nation is still reeling from the horror of the bullying cum murder of T Nhaveen by fellow teenagers, a video of a group of schoolboys seemingly getting drunk while playing truant from school has gone viral on social media.

The two-and-a-half minute video clip, first uploaded on the Malaysian Tamilar Kural Facebook page on Thursday evening, shows at least eight boys, hanging out in what seems to be a hut in an isolated area.

It is not known when and in which state the incident took place.

One of the boys seems unable to stand up, being heavily intoxicated, while two of his friends tried to support him and prop him up.

The boy recording the video on his mobile phone is heard urging in Tamil, for the  drunk-looking teen to dance, telling him, "this is your moment."

He is also heard urging the other boys to give the boy, who is "dancing" while flailing his arms around, a bottle from the ground, to hold while dancing.

It is believed the boys, who are heard hurling profanities at each other throughout the video, had played truant while the video was shot, as they were still clad in school uniforms and one of them is heard mentioning at one point of time that the time was 10am.

The video concludes with the teen recording the video placing the phone on the hut's floor, to join the rest of his friends to dance.

At the time this article was written, the video had garnered over 26,000 views and 855 shares. Those who commented unanimously condemned the boys, with some urging the police to take action.

Meanwhile, The Star also reported the predicament of a Tamil school in Sitiawan, Perak, having to deal with wayward youths spraying gang numbers and symbols on the outer wall separating the school field from the main road.

According to a staff member of SJK (T) Ladang Wangi, the rowdy youths used to frequent the field at night to drink and "party" with their friends, and the erection of the wall had angered them as they feel they had lost their territory.

The youths had also reportedly scolded the school staff when the wall was erected and threw beer bottles into the field later.

"This has been happening for many years," said the man, adding that areas surrounding the school are notorious for gangsterism, drugs and alcohol abuse.

He further said that police used to come by but the culprits always manage to flee.

The daily also quoted a resident near the school saying that the group of boys would often sit at a junction in the housing area and party with the loud music turned up, until the wee hours of the night, and that one of his neighbours was once beaten up for questioning the youths.

Manjung police chief ACP Tengku Mohd Zailan Tengku Ahmad meanwhile, urged residents bothered by the youths to lodge reports so that action can be taken.
