Osu Sukam at the Ritz: Why question Guan Eng?
The report that the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) interviewed Lim Guan Eng over his statements regarding Osu Sukam's gambling debt seems to imply that Lim has done or said something wrong.
This is not only ridiculous but truly laughable. Anyone could tell that Osu Sukam was living beyond his means. What with a salary of only some RM20,000 a month, how can a man gamble in the millions?
You don't need proof to say that man is living beyond his means. There is a clear section in the Anti-Corruption Act to say that if the ACA has reason to believe that a person is living beyond his means, the ACA can ask him to explain his wealth.
Now shouldn't the ACA be interviewing Osu Sukam rather than Lim Guan Eng? Do they have to wait for a signal from the prime minister who has so far said that what has happened is only immoral .
What about the huge wealth that the ex-chief minister has accumulated? Are we again paying lip service to the anti-corruption campaign?
