I am really alarmed at the persistency of the government in pursuing prosecution of malaysiakini over the latter's April Fool prank.

I believe manpower in the Attorney-General's Chamber would be put to better use pursuing the number of corruption cases involving 'big fishes' as highlighted in the media.

But the opposite is true. In spite of direct accusations of corruption committed by ministers and other top guns, there is not a ripple of reaction from the powers-that-be. Or maybe corruption is the norm nowadays and has been incorporated into our culture.

Such allegations - though merely allegations - would not be tolerated by our neighbouring countries. The accuser would definitely be investigated throughly. And the accused would be forced to resign if the charges turn out to be true.

Minister of Energy, Water and Communications Dr Lim Keng Yaik, here is a piece of advice for you. If you do not want to have such a prank played upon the ministers, please do advise them to come clean during cabinet meetings.

Then such an April Fool's joke would not raise such an alarm amongst yourselves.
