The trial and sacking of Umno vice-president Isa Samad, should have been the beginning and not the end. It is yet another anti-climax in the Abdullah administration's drive against corruption.

Many see it as victimisation of one who had fallen on the wrong side. It is hard to believe that with all the talk of money politics within Umno, Isa is the only one who is guilty. It is more likely that he is the scapegoat.

At least 'show cause' letters should have been issued to those suspected of the crime. Whether they are found guilty or not is a different matter.

So, no, this to me is not the reawakening of the massive clean-up project we were all expecting. Until we see investigations and answers to the dozens of police reports lodged against ministers and former ministers for corruption and embezzlement over the last 10 years, the rakyat will not be satisfied.

Why does the Inland Revenue Department actively go from company to company looking for money when the Anti-Corruption Agency can retrieve millions or even billions from past government top guns and politicians?
