Ex-Tekun CEO claims trial to corruption charges

Former Tekun Nasional CEO and managing director Abdul Rahim Hassan today claimed trial to two charges of corruption at the Shah Alam Sessions Court.

The 62-year-old is accused of soliciting RM36,000 bribe on Jan 13, 2015 via SMS, in exchange for expediting payment for claims filed by Pasadana Sdn Bhd amounting to RM360,009.08.

In doing so, he allegedly committed an offence under Section 16(a)(A) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009, which is punishable by up to 20 years imprisonment and a fine at least the sum of the gratification.

This is the second time Abdul Rahim has been charged with graft, after the first two charges were dropped.
