Will Liow and Co leave their 'safe' seats?
MCA president Liow Tiong Lai has been challenged to contest in DAP strongholds or apologise to the party and its veteran member Lim Kit Siang.
DAP Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng issued the challenge in response to Liow's claim that DAP was a privately-owned firm dubbed “Kit Siang & Son Sdn Bhd”.
The MCA president had made the remarks when asked about the possibility of Kit Siang, who is also Gelang Patah MP, contesting in a different seat in the next general election.

The MCA president had made the remarks when asked about the possibility of Kit Siang, who is also Gelang Patah MP, contesting in a different seat in the next general election.
Liow had described this as the political veteran abandoning his responsibilities.
Lip Eng however said Liow had made a foolish remark, as Kit Siang had previously shown that he had the courage to leave "safe seats" to contest in BN strongholds such as Gelang Patah.
"Is there any BN leader that dares to abandon their safe rural seats to contest in opposition urban strongholds?
"To prove that MCA truly serves the people regardless of constituency and race, I dare Liow to abandon his safe seat in Bentong and contest in an parliamentary seat won by DAP," the Segambut lawmaker said in a statement today.
He added that if Liow refuses to accept this challenge, then he should apologise to DAP and Kit Siang.
He also said that, contrary to Liow's assertions that DAP's leadership has been the same for decades, the party has changed chairpersons three times, and secretaries-general five times.
