MCA against 'divisive' Act 355 rally

MCA has objected to a rally to promote PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang's bill which proposes amendments to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965.

Party president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the rally, slated for Feb 18 at Dataran Merdeka, was "divisive" and would cause disunity among ethnic groups.

MCA will submit paper to cabinet to explain why Abdul Hadi's bill was unconstitutional.
