What else is new - DAP is a racist and chauvinist party, Amanah is the ‘leftover’ of PAS, Dr Mahathir Mohamad is an old fox, Muhyiddin Yassin is a ‘has-been’ of Umno, PKR is about Anwar Ibrahim or is directionless without Anwar, racial politics is here to stay and bigotry is on the rise.

There is no hope for Malaysia or worse still, Malaysia’s future is only with Umno/BN. Realpolitik counts, nothing else matters. There is no need for conscience, principle, ethics and morality.

I think this has been the problem with most Malaysians - we can’t prioritise, we can’t see the big picture, and we can’t discern the bigger evils from the smaller ones. We are smug; like a basket of carrots, everyone we pick up is a head.

This is my take, if we can’t take care of the big problems we are facing now, soon there will be no smaller problems for us to resolve.

Why are we constantly concerned with whether or not DAP is a racist or chauvinistic party? If DAP has not fought for Chinese and Indians in this country, may I know who is doing it? Why do we call the party racist when it is fighting for communities the interest of which no one is concerned with?

Why should Amanah not be supported simply because it is a splinter group of PAS? What is wrong with the party that has become more inclusive and moderate? Is this not what most Malaysians want - live in harmony and with moderate views of everything rather than constantly indulging in holier-than-thou mentality?

What is wrong with Mahathir fighting and struggling in his ripe old age? We Malaysians like to talk about “change is the only constant”. So my question is why can’t Mahathir change when time, era, circumstances and urgency have changed?

So also is Muhyiddin Yassin; why can’t he change because the situation in the country has changed. Why do we constantly doubt his and Mahathir’s sincerity and competency? It is not like present crop of leaders are providing us with shining confidence, honesty and competency.

What about PKR leaders? Why are we second-guessing them? Have they not uncovered and exposed numerous scandals and abuse of power to-date? Have we not noticed many of them were charged under various offences and some of them may have to go to jail soon? We can’t be that heartless - expecting others to fight for the well-being of this country but pay no attention to the predicaments and persecution they face each day.

Don’t ever let them psycho us. Realpolitik is not everything. This country must have a soul and a conscience. We must stand for something - the truth. We cannot go along with the path of least resistance.
