A blessing in disguise for Gomez

With regards to the Gomez saga, I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiments expressed in Mr Fed Up's letter.
These things have been happening since the 1960s and those old enough would remember of world-class academics - Prof Gung Wang Wu and Prof Danaraj, to name a few - who packed their bags and left because of the rampant discrimination.
A word of consolation to Gomez - this is a blessing in disguise. Geneva was the refuge for victims of rampant discrimination too - Christians of the Calvinist sect. The city has now developed to be a beacon for neutrality.
Spend your two years there and make those you left behind in UM cringe with envy. Go, Gomez go. Our world is bigger than NEP's Malaysia.
