PAS is willing to negotiate with other opposition parties to ensure straight fights against BN in the 14th general election, president Abdul Hadi Awang said.

However, there is a condition attached: PAS' home should not be disturbed.

"PAS has long opened the doors (for discussion) but when they enter, they cause trouble in our home.

"Don't disturb our house," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby.

Hadi said this when asked if PAS is willing to negotiate with DAP to ensure straight fights against BN.

Previously, PAS spiritual leader Hashim Jasin had said the party had agreed in principle that there should be straight fights against BN during GE14.

In a separate press conference, PAS Youth chief Nik Aduh Nik Abdul Aziz welcomed Hashim's statement but cautioned that the matter was still under discussion.

"It is best (to ensure straight fights) but how we will do so is still in discussion," he said.

Seat discussions soon

PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli said discussion between opposition parties would likely take place at the Pakatan Harapan convention on Nov 12.

An invitation has already been extended to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and PAS.

He said Bersatu has responded positively while the committee is still waiting for PAS' reply.

"The reaction and statement from the PAS spiritual leader is good news as it shows an openness to negotiate," he said.

Earlier, Pakatan Harapan secretariat chief Saifuddin Abdullah said the coalition's convention will indicate the opposition line-up for GE14.

Saifuddin said there could be an agreement between Harapan parties and those outside the coalition, and could give an indication of the leadership line-up on offer.
