We have now two ministers reacting to malaysiakini's April Fool's prank and the attorney-general is now studying the law to select a suitable one for malaysiakini to be charged under.

It will be a case which will spur the interest of the Malaysian community. The government should realise that until and unless Malaysians see action being taken against high-level corruption and the booking of the unscrupulous lot that continue to menace the country and its wealth and taxpayers' money, nothing will stop loyal Malaysians from constructively criticising the government of the day. And more needs to be done.

The charging of malaysiakini for their April Fool's Day joke will be an interesting affair whereby Malaysians at large will be able there to show their great moral support for those who will publish news without fear or favour.

And not to mention that the international community will again have the opportunity to watch the Malaysian court in action. Actually, the behaviour of our ministers shows nothing but their immaturity besides the reluctance of the government to tackle corruption and abuses of power. And the silence of our prime minister can be deemed to be supportive of the ministers' actions.

All these are consistent reminders to all Malaysians come the next election. We do not want to be misled again by the propaganda of the Barisan Nasional and empty promises. BN must prove that they are able to deliver on all that they promised in the last election. If this rot of not keeping promises is not contained, we fear the worst.
