The divorce proceedings between a former deputy public prosecutor and his wife concerning her alleged affair with former deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin has ended with the official dissolution of the marriage.

Stanley Clement Augustin and Nika Gee Siew Yee had agreed to dissolve their marriage today at the High Court in Kuala Lumpur.

"The marriage has dissolved by consent with immediate effect. The case is over," Augustin's lawyer S Periasamy told reporters after leaving the chambers at the High Court today.

He said this was the joint statement from himself and Gee's counsel, Choo Dee Wei.

Meanwhile, when questioned, Choo declined to reveal anything more than what Periasamy had said.

"As how Periasamy had said, it's closed now and that's the joint statement that we're making. That's all I can say.

"It's a settlement," he later added.

Previously, blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin had posted an alleged statutory declaration (SD) by Augustin which implicated Muhyiddin in the case.

The document published on Raja Petra’s blog Malaysia Today claimed that Muhyiddin’s wife was aware of this alleged affair.

The SD further claimed that Gee met Muhyiddin overseas and had received financial and material benefit from him.

Raja Petra said since the anti-Najib camp, including Muhyiddin, had said Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak should sue if allegations of corruption against him were untrue, Muhyiddin should likewise sue over the allegation of an affair.

Muhyiddin, however, has since dismissed the allegation as baseless and malicious.

“All the allegations are malicious slander and spread only to destroy my integrity and smells of dirty politics,” he had said.

Augustin has also since remained tight-lipped on the issue.
