The opposition can wrest as many as 45 parliamentary seats from BN should there be a small swing of voters against the ruling coalition, said former deputy premier Muhyiddin Yassin.

According to him, there are 67 BN seats which are considered winnable by the opposition.

"In a simulation conducted by experts that I appointed, if there is a four percent swing, 45 seats will fall (to the opposition).

"A majority of those seats belong to Umno," Muhyiddin said at an anti-1MDB roadshow organised by PKR in Sabak Bernam, which is located in the northern tip of Selangor, last night.

The pro-tem president of Umno splinter group, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), stressed the importance of opposition unity and the need to ensure straight fights against BN in the next elections.

Meanwhile on another matter, Muhyiddin reiterated that former attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail had personally shown him evidence of RM4 billion in Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's bank accounts.

"You don't have to question me where I got the information from. I had told you it came from the former AG. If you want to know (more), ask him."

Muhyiddin has earlier claimed that Gani had informed him that Najib had almost RM1 billion in his personal accounts even before receiving the alleged RM2.6 billion donation, which the prime minister said came from a member of the Saudi royal family.

In respond to this, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had challenged Muhyiddin to prove his claims.

Muhyiddin headlined last night's event together with PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and her deputy, Azmin Ali.

It was first stop in the ‘1MDB - 1Malaysia Dalam Bahaya’ (Whole of Malaysia in Danger) roadshow, which seeks to explain the 1MDB scandal to rural and semi-urban folk, especially the Malays.

The roadshow will next go to Malacca on Sept 25.
