Hadi, stop fantasising about non-Muslim support
YOURSAY | ‘Well-informed people can differentiate between a man of God and a dishonest politician.’
Hadi: More non-Muslims will want syariah once Act 355 is amended
Quigonbond: Even assuming non-Muslims think that Islam is inherently fair and just, who would trust back-stabber Abdul Hadi Awang?
And who would trust Hadi's insistence on hudud when PAS thinks it is okay to label anti-hudud proponents infidels?
Why will any non-Muslim want to side with ultra-conservatism when that's what's fuelling Islamic State (IS) terror elsewhere? Hadi is living in his own surreal dream.
Aries46: Hadi needs to have his head examined to claim that non-Muslims would prefer PAS-enacted hudud that he claims is just and fair compared to our legitimate constitutional laws of the civilised world that we have chosen and bind us as a nation.
Which century is Hadi living in? He seems to be ignorant of our history and the secular concept of governance that has brought this nation to its present level of unity and prosperity.
The non-Muslims reject extremism in any form and will not tolerate cruelty under any guise. They are marching forward into the civilised world away from extreme religious dogmas that inflicts inhuman punishment and opportunistic politicians like Hadi who are bent on dividing the people by race and religion for his survival.
The irony is that for all his claim of PAS godliness and superiority, his chosen partners in its implementation are none other than the most ungodly, corrupted and power abusive party that is now in the limelight for all the wrong reasons.
Negarawan: "When they see that syariah law is better, they (non-Muslims) will automatically choose syariah and this is what is feared by those quarters (who oppose the amendments to the Act)," said Hadi.
Does Hadi think that with hudud, Malaysia will become a more just country? The biggest problem in Malaysia today is rampant corruption at the highest levels of the government.
That Hadi is rubbing shoulders with an allegedly corrupt leader clearly shows that Hadi's hudud is not about justice, but about hoodwinking the Malays into supporting PAS.
Hadi does not respect the rights of non-Muslims and he thinks that the world revolves around Islam. It is time that he is shown that there are many other religions.
Hadi's extremism and bigotry will only alienate more non-Muslims and worsen the state of Islamophobia. Well-informed people can differentiate between a man of God and a dishonest politician.
Anonymous #32557251: I wonder how he got the idea (that non-Muslims will want syariah once his private member’s bill is implemented).
Show us some statistics based on a scientific survey, or else he is uttering words plucked out of thin air.
Iiiizzzziiii: I strongly disagree with Hadi’s rhetoric. There is no one law which is better than another, whatever that set of laws may be. It all comes down to its interpretation, execution and application.
This simply means it is up to the authority that has been given the responsibility to uphold the law to make the law just and great for all.
In this regard, it is rather clear that Malaysia does not need a new set of laws. It is the people that have been tasked to uphold the law that need to scrutinise.
SelangorKu: Syariah laws are practised in Aceh and non-Muslims are supposed to be exempted from them. But a 60-year-old non-Muslim woman was publicly whipped for selling liquor.
A Dutch woman was allegedly date-raped in Qatar and instead of charging the rapist, she was charged for adultery.
If syariah laws are so good, why migrants from Syria, etc, don't run to Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan but instead to Germany and other decadent Western countries.
PAS should study why Kelantan has one of the highest incidents of HIV/AIDS, unwed mothers and teenage pregnancies.
Hadi, please stop your sales pitch, go manage your backyard. Between Umno and PAS, the people will still vote for Umno. The devil we know is better than the PAS ‘angel’ we don't know.
PAS can say goodbye to Selangor. If Umno supports PAS, then BN can also go down with them.
Responsible Malaysian: Hadi, you can only speak for yourself or your own party, but you cannot speak for all Muslims.
Do not intimidate them to surrender to you by telling them what they should and should not do.
Demi Negara: Hadi is neither religious or cares for the rakyat. He is merely interested in his personal agenda.
A person who does not fight injustice, corruption and abuse of powers certainly does not stand for truth or for God. Hadi is such a person.
