The Global Movement of Moderates Foundation (GMMF) is deeply saddened and strongly condemns the latest terror attack in the southern French city of Nice, especially during the auspicious celebration of the Bastille Day, which killed at least 80 people, including several children.

GMMF chief executive officer Nasharudin Mat Isa said that the acts of terror which took the lives of the innocent and the young on Thursday, were criminal and unjustifiable and should never be attributed to any nationality, ethnicity or religion.

"The Global Movement of Moderates Foundation underlines its calls for the need to bring the perpetrators, organisers and financiers of such reprehensible acts of terror to justice," he said in a GMMF statement.

Nasharudin emphasised that the GMMF stood in solidarity with the people and government of France and prayed for a united front in countering all forms of terrorism and violent extremism.

He extended the foundation's deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the family members of the victims.
