Steer clear of IS, PAS tells Muslims

Oxymoronictendencies: I agree with PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man. We should all steer away from people and groups that do not follow the teachings of the Prophet.

Whilst the terrorism espoused by Islamic State (IS) is abhorrent, equally, theft from the rakyat is also abhorrent.

Sadly, in our country it seems that stealing from the rakyat is acceptable behaviour. The hypocrisy of our politicians and religious leaders in such matters is glaring and disturbing.

Doc: As a non-Muslim, I am totally confused with Islam of the present day. For example, PAS claims they are an Islamic party, hence they are Allah's chosen party.

Similarly, IS claims they are carrying out their terror activities in Allah's name and want to establish the true form of syariah worldwide.

And PAS claims they want to do the same with hudud. Both IS' version of syariah law and hudud are two sides of the same coin.

Similarly, PAS is against any establishment selling alcohol which is haram and hence they have banned all restaurants in Kelantan from serving alcohol.

IS is trying to do the same by blowing up ‘haram’ restaurants. Both PAS and IS are more fixated on the afterlife than the present.

Both allegedly cause pain and economic hardship on the Muslim people they rule (Fallujah and Kelantan).

Both are anti-western and fearlessly anti-progressive. So why is PAS asking Muslims to stay away from IS?

Worldly Wise: PAS has given sound advice. But it will fall on deaf ears because PAS is promoting radical ritualism.

The Analyser: Is this Puchong 'terrorist' attack the beginnings of a campaign to frighten Muslims into the arms of Umno where they will be protected by the super-efficient police force?

In contrast, under PAS the only protection they will ever get is from Allah. And we all know how effective that will be.

Anonymous Hotplate: Is PAS very sure that Muslims cannot take the easy way out in fighting for their religion and implementing Islam?

Then why all the back-stabbing and planning to kill non-Muslims under ‘kafir’ this and ‘kafir’ that?

RCZ: To my mind, the Pahang mufti is equivalent to IS but we don't hear anything from Tuan Ibrahim and PAS. Why?

The mufti has suggested the slaying all non-Muslims and fellow Malaysians who don't support Islam. Isn't this IS behaviour and thinking?

Gaji Buta: And please scrap the plan to bring 1.5 million Bangladeshi workers into the country.

In fact, the authorities should make a stand that if any Bangladeshis are found to be involved in terror or extremism, the whole lot who are here will be shipped back. No more kid gloves treatment, please.

Jaguh: IS kills all regardless of religion. Look at Baghdad recently and lots of other instances.

Is IS going to be selective here? When they commit acts of cowardice like tossing grenades into public areas, is that an act of heroism? I think not.

Anonymous_3f49: The sheer hypocrisy of ruling politicians and religious leaders is allowing the cancer of corruption to fester and is now creating the breeding ground for IS to rear its ugly head.

How soon will we reap what we sow?

Sans Blinkers: Many moderate statements on Islam comes from Tuan Ibrahim but PAS is totally controlled by party president Abdul Hadi Awang. Who in PAS can you believe?

Nil: If you instil in the local Muslims’ mind that their religion needs protection, and the need for them to fight for their religion, they are going to be mighty confused if you now tell them to steer away from the IS because they are seeing IS as the means to that end.

So, why not tell local Muslims they do not have to "fight". All they need is their belief and faith...

Anonymous_3e86: Indeed, why do Muslims need to fight for Islam? Why use the word "fight"? This is exactly the reason why many Muslims take to violence.
