Unhappy with former deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin's refusal to show up at the first event to explain a matter related to a statutory declaration (SD), Malay NGO Jaringan Melayu Malaysia (JMM) has now issued an open invitation to him to attend a 'Nothing to Hide 3.0' programme.

This time, JMM, which organised the first 'Nothing to Hide 2.0' event last Sunday which was aired on TV3, has given Muhyiddin the opportunity to decide the time to show up for the second event.

On June 3, JMM president Azwandin Hamzah had distributed copies of the SD that accuses Muhyiddin of having an affair with a woman and abuse of power.

He said he distributed the copies of the SD because he claimed Muhyiddin had broken his promise to attend the event and give an explanation.

"I accept with an open heart the remarks made by Muhyiddin. For me, this is only a petty issue for an ex-minister to quarrel with me over the invitation," said Azwandin.

"Today, I use the media formally to invite him to attend 'Nothing to Hide 3.0', organised by us," he said at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.

"The time and date will be fixed by Muhyiddin. It is best (for him to decide) the time. For me, it is childish to dispute the time or whether he had received an invitation or not," he said.

Muhyiddin, who described the allegations in the SD as untrue and slanderous, had said he had never agreed to attend the 'Nothing to Hide 2.0' event or met Azwandin.

At the press conference, Azwandin was asked why was he using the media to harp on a personal issue when the media should be focusing on national issues.

He said Muhyiddin, who had made numerous statements related to the morals of others, should also reflect on himself as a moral leader.

"There is nothing wrong for an NGO to invite a leader who was alleged (of having an affair with a married woman).

"For me, this is the best way (as it) provides him ( Muhyiddin) a platform to explain the accusations," he said, adding: "We have no intention to attack him."

"It is rare that such platform was given by an NGO to allow Muhyiddin the room (to explain)," he said.

He reminded Muhyiddin not to distract public attention from the allegation contained in the SD.
