MIC president S Samy Vellu, showing that he means business with grading the performance of party branches, said today that he would personally go through every report card that branches are now required to submit to party headquarters.
Branches must complete forms provided by the party to show their activities for last year, such as the number of meetings held, assistance given to the poor and the problems they solved for the public, he said, adding that he would personally go through every form that was returned.
Cash incentives
"We will then grade the performance of each branch. The best will be awarded RM5,000, the second RM2,500 and third RM1,000," a Bernama report quoted him as saying in Sungai Siput.
Unfortunately, he made no mention of what action he would take against branches which did not perform up to his expectation.
Samy Vellu, who is the Works Minister and MP for Sungai Siput, also said he would begin visiting every division of the party from next month to check on their activities.
