Najib: Ahmad Razif remains T'ganu MB, to continue duties as usual
Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today announced that at an audience with Terengganu ruler Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin on Saturday, it was agreed that Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman will remain as the menteri besar and continue his duties as usual.
Najib was speaking at a press conference after the National Labour Day celebrations at the Putra World Trade Centre.
“I wish to inform everyone that I had an audience with the Sultan of Terengganu yesterday on the issue of the Terengganu menteri besar post.
“The Tuanku and I have come to an understanding and agreement that Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman will remain as the menteri besar of Terengganu and he will continue his duties as usual,” Najib said.
“With this announcement, I hope there will be no further speculation regarding the Terengganu state government leadership, and this issue has been resolved,” the prime minister added.
The premier also mentioned that the Terengganu state government should now focus on ensuring an efficient and effective administration so that all development plans can proceed smoothly for the benefit of the rakyat.
Today’s National Labour Day celebrations was attended by about 2,000 guests, which comprised employees from the civil service and private sectors, and other members of the public.
