Perak has become the first state to introduce an online divorce application system, known as ‘MySolve’.

Islamic Religious Affairs, Islamic Education and Personality Development Committee chairperson Mohd Nizar Zakaria said the system developed by the Perak Syariah Judiciary Department is accessible at mysolve.perak.gov.my .

“This (system) is not aimed at encouraging divorce, but only to ease the process for couples seeking a divorce to solve their marital problems,” he told reporters after launching the system in Ipoh today.

Meanwhile, Perak Syariah Chief Judge and Head of Perak Syariah Judiciary Department Asa’ari Mohd Yazid said the system was developed since January with the cooperation from the Perak Corporation.

He said applications for divorce filed through the system could be settled in just one week at the latest compared to two months if using the normal procedure.

“So far, 34 couples have used the system and there is even a case that has been solved in just a day,” he said, adding that the registration fee for each divorce application using the MySolve system was fixed at RM50.
