PARLIAMENT Taking full responsibility for the Youth and Sports Ministry's RM100 million graft scandal means fixing what's wrong, said its minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

"Taking full responsibility means I have to fix the situation.

"If I am involved, that will be determined during the investigations," Khairy told the House today.

He said the investigations into his ministry would be carried out independently by a team selected by the chief secretary to the government Ali Hamsa and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

When met outside the Dewan Rakyat, Khairy reiterated that his responsibilty is to give his full cooperation.

He said he would not protect anyone from the probe, including himself.

"I won't protect anybody... whether they are present members of the ministry, previous members, even myself."

Asked to comment on calls for him to resign, Khairy said it is up to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to decide on his ministerial post.

The MACC had previously revealed that it has arrested nine persons on March 17, including a 56-year-old Youth and Sports Ministry division secretary, who is said to have masterminded the scheme and pocketed RM20 million in kickbacks.

The group is said to have been active since 2010.
