The death of a prominent businessman from gunshot wounds should be a wake-up call to the police who continue to issue gun licences to the high and mighty. This latest sad episode is reminiscent of the case of a prominent ex-jurist who took his own life with his own gun due to depression.

No religion in this country allows members of their flock to take their own lives under any circumstances and it is therefore prudent for the authority to look into the mental health of those who are issued firearms licence.
