I’m glad ABC journalists were arrested
I was quite ‘pleased’ to read that our ever-vigilant authorities arrested the ‘meddling’ and ‘menacing’ Australian journalists. That should teach them to meddle right? %$&^$$ foreigners!
I say this as the world will now hear and see on a first-hand basis the experiences of many in Malaysia, whether they are politicians, journalists or just bystanders.
Welcome to Malaysia where if you don’t belong to the ruling elites, then there rule of law will not apply to you, just whatever ‘they’ think fit will be meted out.
Just like all the other incredible tales that has originated from PutraJaya for which even Pinocchio will be proud of, this latest tale of ‘security breach’ leaves the heart tickled but the grey cells horrified.
Let’s examine the story so far. The Australian ABC pair (to be referred as Duo) were stopped and detained as they allegedly breached the security line and were menacing towards the PM. Say we accept this story. Why were they released soon after? This means that they were adjudged to be bona fide and harmless and were let go. The Duo were not even asked to report to the nearest police station.
To be fair to our police, this is unchartered territory. Our journalists don’t ask hard hitting questions. The one who dares like the poor Malaysiakini journalist was given a real dressing down by the home minister who was not the DPM yet. Only opposition politician ask difficult and embarrassing questions. For that they will be regularly evicted from Parliament and have a season pass to Dang Wangi for chat sessions.
Then, someone had an afterthought, received instruction from higher up and pronto they visited the hotel the Duo were staying and promptly arrested them. Can you imagine if this Duo were indeed ‘terrorists’, they would have been halfway to Syria by the time we acted?
This reminds me of the time MH370 disappeared and our vigilant guardians of our skies spotted an unidentified flight but apparently decided among themselves it was a friendly plane and there was No Further Action (NFA)...
I digress, so coming back on course, now this Duo are in their own free and liberated land and will have all the energy and motivation to write a hard hitting story that will be another ‘attack’ to undermine and bring down our democratically elected government as part of a Zionist-IS plot. Ha-ha.
There is a letter in the New Straits Times ( NST ) today reminding foreigners to respect our local laws , what law is that? don’t question when there are rampant abuse or just whack anyone who dares ask question?
I look forward to the report from ABC . Australians are quite nice and friendly people but they react when they are stung. Ask the English cricket and rugby teams after being thrashed by the Aussies as payback for their loss before.
The truth is our politician and enforcers are no match for these foreign journalists. They have gone to war zones and been bombed to kingdom come. Being arrested for embarrassing a VIP is probably the lowest challenge they have faced.
Let’s wait for the backlash from Down Under now.
