Dear opposition, you are not alone
The Citizens’ Declaration has sparked a debate among the people along with some parties who pledged support for it, but the rest remain sceptical about Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s sincerity in saving Malaysia, including myself.
Look here, no, I am no BN supporter but one who has been waiting for a change of government. All I want to say is that the road to change isn’t easy and there is no need to hurry, we can all wait.
Why can’t we wait for the next election to change the government? It’s just another two years at most. We have come this far and to me it is no big deal to wait a little longer.
Even if you all can’t wrest federal power? Don’t worry. I believe there are many people out there who will continue the struggle and walk together with you all. We can cry together but we will never give up. One election after another, we will continue to wait.
I do not want to hurl any insulting remarks at any members of the opposition or any ordinary citizens who have signed or planning to sign the declaration. The beauty of democracy gives you the freedom to do so. Democracy also allows me to have dissenting point of views.
It sure seems like having dissension is a taboo. Sometimes having a different opinion doesn’t imply abandonment. The rakyat will not abandon you, dear opposition. We will be there for you. Maybe just maybe, not with you this time and threatening the rakyat by using ‘either you are with us or against us’ doesn’t work all the time.
Dear opposition, you are not alone! We still want change, not a mere change of government or change for the sake of change, but real change. So, why are you people in a rush to work with crooks to achieve your aim like there’s no tomorrow. There is a Chinese saying, yù sù zé bù dá, which means things that are done in a rush may not be good.
We, too, want to save Malaysia but make sure it goes the right way and not the other way round. Please don’t say we are not doing anything so we shouldn’t comment. Remember that social media played a big role to help you garner support during the election campaigning period.
