A leading businessman Syed Ibrahim Syed Mohamed, who held the franchise for Jaguar cars, was found dead with a gunshot wound in the swimming pool of his Kuala Lumpur home, a newspaper said today.

There was a blood trail all the way from the study room of his upmarket Bukit Tunku home to the swimming pool following the incident Monday, the New Straits Times newspaper said.

Probe underway

Police found a .38 Smith and Wesson revolver in the study room of the 55-year-old multimillionaire, it said.

Kuala Lumpur's police chief Mustafa Abdullah said an investigation was underway.

Syed Ibrahim was the chairman of Sisma Auto Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor and importer of Jaguar cars in Malaysia.
