Save M'sia group divided on whether to save Anwar

Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who was the group's spokesperson today, simply brushed aside the question when asked whether he would campaign for Anwar's freedom.
"We are concerned about removing Najib," Mahathir said, not mentioning the name of his former protégé turned nemesis.

) however felt differently.
"Releasing Anwar and all other persons wrongly incarcerated should be part of our agenda," she said when asked about reforms that must be implemented after Najib is removed.
They said this during a press conference after more than 50 politicians and NGO leaders from both sides of the divide signed a declaration to seek Najib's ouster.
At the end of the press conference, some of the leaders present shouted "Reformasi" several times, the rallying cry of Anwar's party PKR.
Mahathir however did not react to this, and simply smiled.
Despite the disagreements over Anwar, PKR Selangor state exco Elizabeth Wong feels the group's goal to oust Najib will nonetheless secure the PKR de facto leader's release.
"I believe in bringing down this prime minister, Anwar has a very good chance of being free," she told reporters after the press conference.
Anwar was sentenced to five years' jail on Feb 10 last year.
Pakatan Harapan continues to back him as their leader, and want him to be the next prime minister.
He endorsed the efforts to remove Najib in a press statement yesterday, and declared support for the Umno rebels, including Mahathir.
