Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has identified potential candidates, including several new faces, to contest in the coming Sarawak election.

Its deputy president, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said the selection of the candidates had been decided by the party's election committee and their names would be announced after the polling date for the election had been announced.

"The selected candidates meet the key performance index set by the party. They include those with vast experience in Sarawak politics and young professionals," he told reporters after chairing the state executive council meeting in Shah Alam today.

Commenting on a statement by Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, who questioned his action in opposing the removal of two PKR assemblypersons as directors of government-linked companies in Penang, the Selangor menteri besar said he was just conveying the party's decision.

The two assemblypersons - Ong Chin Wen (Bukit Tengah) and Cheah Kah Peng (Kebun Bunga) were sacked after they abstained from voting on a land reclamation motion tabled by BN during a state assembly sitting last November.
