Chief secretary to the government Ali Hamsa yesterday denied reports claiming that government contract workers would have their services terminated by December this year.

Ali said the government did not intend to terminate the contracts of its staff this year.

"It's a false news and a lie spread by irresponsible individuals with no authority," he said in a statement released in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

A news portal reported yesterday that government contract workers would not have their contract renewed, but instead would find it to be terminated from December this year.

The portal, citing sources, said the information was obtained from a meeting held yesterday morning.
