PKR deputy president Azmin Ali today reiterated that that Pakatan Harapan's aim for the 14 th general election would be one-to-one seat contests and that disputes between its allies would have to be resolved.

He was responding to PAS leader Mohd Khairuddin At-Takiri who had demanded demanded that PKR not allow Parti Amananh Negara to contest PAS seats in the next general election.

Azmin downplayed the tension between PAS and its splinter party saying the problem of 'overlapping seat contests' was a normal process which occurred at every polls be it the general election, state election or a by-election.

"The election is still a long way to go. The overlapping of seats happens at every by-election, general election and state election. It is a normal process.

"All the parties have to sit down and discuss. Our principle and agreement is that it has to be a one-to-one fight," he said at a press conference during the PKR national congress in Petaling Jaya.

"This is not a question if we can do it or not but we must do it," he said, adding PKR has engaged in many rounds of seat negotiations in Sarawak with its allies.

"This is fundamental (for Sarawak) otherwise it would be an easy win for BN or for PBB in the next Sarawak state election," he said.

He said during seat negotiations, the opposition would arrange its line-up for straight fights with BN candidates.

In his Facebook post, Khairuddin had said: 'Do not let Amanah contest in PAS seats.'

"If PKR, which cooperates with Amanah has agreed to support Amanah to contest in a three-cornered fight at PAS vs Umno seats, then why must PAS back down and give way to PKR to avoid a three-cornered fight?" asked the Kuala Nerus MP.
