Perak MB threatens to sue DAP rep
Perak Menteri Besar Zambry Abdul Kadir said he would institute legal action against Aulong assemblyperson Leow Thye Yih for accusing him of receiving 'donations' from a housing developer.
Zambry made the decision after watching a visual recording of the media conference allegedly held by Leow today on the issue; the assemblyperson had allegedly repeated the same accusation outside the state assembly hall.
"I view this matter seriously because it is an excessive allegation even though he claimed it was not him but other people who said it; but you must take responsibility for your statement.
"How could you bring what other people said into the Dewan (assembly hall) to accuse me.
"You are accusing me of receiving money from the housing developer, you know it's a very serious allegation. I wanted him to repeat it outside the dewan and he did, okay fine, no problem.
"I will see him in court, I will sue him, lawyers, please initiate immediately, I will not tolerate this," he told a press conference in Ipoh today.
Earlier, Leow said in a media conference that he would not retract the claim, and also showed the press the Hansard which noted his statement.
