Three PAS lawmakers who defied the Islamist party's order by voting against the Budget will be asked to explain, said secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan.

"They followed their hearts instead of the party's instruction. But this is a small matter. No disciplinary action will be taken," he said when met at the Parliament lobby today.

"We will get an initial explanation from them. However, we have yet to decide on our next course of action."

Takiyuddin added that PAS sees the Budget as partially unIslamic and flawed.

"We do not reject the Budget totally nor we accepted it fully," he said.

The three who voted against the budget are Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar, Pasir Puteh MP Nik Mazian Nik Mohamad and Kubang Kerian MP Ahmad Baihaki Atiqullah.

Takiyuddin, who is Kota Bharu MP, denied the incident has caused a rift in the party.

"No (rift), we understand our MPs. In other aspects, they are still with us.

"This is a normal procedure for any organisation to call your members. When your party members do not follow the instructions, we will ask them, 'what's the matter?'. That's all. It will be like coffee-table talk," he said.

Meanwhile, Takiyuddin said the party will decide if it will support the motion of no-confidence against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak brought by Opposition Leader Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, when it is debated in the House.

"The motion is listed in the (Parliament's) Order Paper as item 31. We will see if they will be brought up for debate. There is still a long way to go.

"We accept the motion of a vote of no-confidence. It is a democratic process in Parliament," he said.
