DAP legal bureau chief and Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo today lodged a report with the MACC regarding an interveiw BN strategic communication director Abdul Rahman Dahlan's had with The Star Online which was published on Sunday.

The report was made under Section 23(1) of the MACC Act 2009 which concerns the 'offence of using office or position for gratification'.

"I lodged a report with the MACC asking it to commence investigations into the contents of the said article," Gobind told reporters

outside the MACC Kuala Lumpur branch after making the report.

On Sunday, it was reported that Abdul Rahman said Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak had to 'take out people' after an alleged draft charge sheet against him (the prime minister) emerged.

In the interview, he also described the charge sheet as an attempt to 'criminalise the prime minister'.

"Given that scenario what would you do? You would take drastic action wouldn't you?

"If you are a politician, of course you would take some pre-emptive steps so that it doesn't happen," Rahman Dahlan ( photo ) had said.

The alleged draft charge sheet was published by whistleblower webiste Sarawak Report shortly before the previous attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail was removed from office.

Mohamed Apandi Ali, who took over as attorney-general,  then disbanded a special task force comprising the police, MACC, Bank Negara and the Attorney-General's Chambers which was probing deposits from state-owned 1MDB into Najib's personal bank accounts.

Gobind said he is asking for the MACC to look into the contents of the article and that the report was not lodged against anybody in particular.

"The contents of the said article are self-explanatory," he said.

For now, he said he has done his duty as a member of parliament and would await for a response from the MACC.

He added he also planned to bring up the issue during the next parliament sitting in October.
