Now, Najib holds prayer to ‘save Malaysia’ as well

Hang Babeuf: "God," so people used to say in the era of military conflict, "is on the side of the big battalions."

 

These days it is the big talkers and big spenders who pray that the divine force will be with them. Perhaps God is, perhaps God will hear their prayers. But even if not, a good public show of piety and pious conventionalism is never wasted - among the unimaginative and desperate.

 

It may not convince God, but it can impress the gullible. Meanwhile, on PM Najib Razak's bold initiative, let us all pray together to the Almighty to save Malaysia from its failing, doomed PM.

 

Even if the captain drowns in the storm, let us pray that the national ship will reach port safely, ready to sail again in the future under a better navigator.

 

The Najib years have been an unprecedented shambles and humiliation for Malaysia. They have seen Umno go from being a tough but capable political party to a gaggle of mediocrities, a rabble of opportunists and bully-boys.

 

Former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad's policies may have been questionable. But he had policies. Najib has only delusions, schemes and disasters to show for his years at the top.

 

In most countries, six years is a very long tenure for a PM. Normally they have something, a lot, to show for their time. Najib has nought to show - and still begs to be given a chance. Begs not personally but through his surrogates and "talking chiefs". He will not speak for himself.

 

When a man cannot be a capable DIY politician in his own cause and interest - if he cannot and will not himself face and persuade people whom he would lead and to whom he is accountable - he has no business being PM.

 

He's in the wrong job. He should resign - and do something else more suited to his talents.

 

Gunnerrun: If prayers for all the baddies do come true, imagine what kind of world it will be... wouldn't it then be hell on earth?

 

With what we already see and face with the worsening times, I think for most Malaysians, especially for those grappling with the effects of Goods and Services Tax (GST), rising prices and uncontrolled weakening of the ringgit, this is already hell enough.

 

Hope: Better pray for himself. Like the lady from Kedah (Langkawi Umno delegate Anina Saaduddin) said, do not "kencing" on us every day.

 

Most of all, pray that donation by billions can go into our personal accounts.

 

Unafraid: Hypocrite! What kind of God does the PM pray to that blesses corrupted hands and crooked hearts?

 

Everything he says is a big lie and his word has absolutely no honor at all in the ears of most Malaysians. He can pray for all he wants, his prayers will only bounce off from the ceiling.

 

Devon: Najib, I will save you the trouble of praying. Just resign and you would have answered most of the people's prayers.

 

Speechless: Prayers are good. Let's all pray that leaders and their accomplices who cheat, lie and steal get the full force of retribution in this life and in the afterlife.

The crook prays to maintain status quo while the innocent prays for a better Malaysia. If only the custodians of law and order had done their part without fear or favour, God shall not be embroiled in this mess.

 

 

'Give Najib the same chance Mahathir got'

 

Oxymoronictendencies: The suggestion that the PM be "given time" to "fix" 1MDB is quite bizarre. It suggests that if the PM "fixes" 1MDB, then everything will be okay.

 

We can all then forget the mismanagement. The mountainous debt. The apparent dubious transactions. The lies and deceit.

 

Clearly, given the admission that 1MDB needs to be "fixed" at all, is proof that things are wrong despite the constant pleas to the contrary.

 

To suggest that "fixing" 1MDB will absolve those responsible for the mess, including potential illegal and criminal acts, is outrageous. What sort of mind-bending drugs are these people taking?

 

Clearly morality and integrity is long gone from the upper echelons of the Malaysian government.

 

Commentable: To be frank, give him time to do what? Create more havoc to the country and Malaysians generally? Haven't the public suffered enough?

 

We have to face multiple whammies these days, not only international humiliation and economic woes but also daily insults to our intelligence by our brainless ministers.

 

Multi Racial: A crime is a crime. If this is allowed then all other criminals can also ask for a second chance.

 

Yes, he will be given a second chance. But he has to pay for his alleged crime like everyone else.
