Your statement in the article ‘Cut funding to Perdana Foundation to stop Dr M’ elucidates grave misunderstandings of your position and the position of the BN government of the day on a few fronts.

Firstly the funds, which were given to Pertubuhan Minda Dan Sosial Prihatin (PMSP) from the national coffers belong to our country the Federation of Malaysia. It does not belong to the government of the day, less so to Barisan National.

Secondly the government of the day, formed by the political coalition of BN, are merely trustees of the country’s money. As such you and your government owe a fiduciary duty to use these funds for the benefit and interest of the country. I would also like to remind you that the interest of the country is not the interest of BN. In fact I would argue that at this juncture the interest of the country is clearly at odds with the interest of BN.

Thirdly that Dr Mahathir Mohamad has used the country’s money (no doubt disbursed by the BN government of the day) to criticise the government of the day poses no inconsistency either from a moral or legal standpoint. On the contrary his actions, which many would agree are in the interest of the country, honours the money which he has received.

Your misunderstandings which I have pointed out above exemplifies the disrespect that the government of the day has shown to the true sovereign of our country, and that is the rakyat of Malaysia.
