Lim Kit Siang is saddened that Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) strategic communication director Rohaizad Yaakob was transferred a day after the latter met with opposition leaders and lawmakers.

"I feel very bad the officer was removed after he met opposition MPs and politicians (yesterday)," he told Malaysiakini .

Rohaizad had received the delegation of opposition leaders at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya yesterday and thanked them for their support.

Criticising the transfer of Rohaizad ( photo ) and special operations director Bahri Mohd Zain to the Prime Minister's Department, the DAP supremo said it revealed that the "madness in Putrajaya continues."

He said Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also the deputy prime minister, must have realised the government went overboard and following public pressure, was forced to guarantee no more arrests of MACC officers.

"But now, it seems the intimidation and hideous means still continues. This is not good," he noted.

In a sudden change of event this evening, both officers were transferred to the Prime Minister's Department, with immediate effect.

Bahri was overseeing the probe on the Finance Ministry-owned SRC International Sdn Bhd, including the transfer of RM42 million into Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's personal bank accounts.

Najib is also the finance minister.
