Lembah Pantai PAS Youth chief Mohd Hafiz Habil and fellow members in the committee have announced their resignation following the internal crisis faced by the Islamist party, and they are considering joining Gerakan Harapan Baru.

Hafiz said they decided to quit because they have not seen any efforts being made to find a peaceful solution.

"We have lost our confidence in the party leadership. We do not rule out the possibility of joining Gerakan Harapan Baru.

"There must be a leader in PAS who can act as a conduit instead of issuing statements. They should aggressively meet with the other side to resolve issues plaguing the party rather than continuing to quarrel," he told Malaysiakini .

He referred to the late PAS president Fadzil Noor's way of resolving internal problems in the party by meeting everyone.

Besides Hafiz, those who resigned include his deputy Muhamad Fadzil Ahamad, information chief Nik Abdul Razak Nik Md Ridzuan, and committee members Mohd Zulfadhli Zulkifli and Mohd Zulnazmi Zulkifli.
