He called on the person, whom he declined to name, to cooperate with the authorities or face police remand.
“Definitely we will be calling in anyone (in relation to the Justo’s case). We have identified (the opposition leader) and we will call in this person.
“Let us do the investigation. I hope they will cooperate with us or we will take action to arrest and remand them in lock-up,” he told media at the Bukit Aman police national headquarters Hari Raya open house.
He was asked on whether police were aware as to the identity of the opposition figure who had met with Justo ( photo ).
Yesterday, Thailand police said Justo had met with a member of the Malaysian opposition and also a Malaysian media tycoon before allegedly selling PetroSaudi company information to them.
Describing the Thailand police’s revelation as 'shocking' and 'serious', Khalid also said Malaysian police have initiated investigations into Justo’s statement.
'Papagomo' remand expiring
Khalid also said pro-Umno blogger Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, who was detained for spreading false news on Low Yat riot last weekend, may face further remand.
“(The case is being handled) by Kuala Lumpur police. If they need a longer time to remand him, we will apply for it.
“If the probe is done, we will then refer to the attorney-general.”
Wan Muhammad Azri ( photo ), a blogger popularly known as 'Papagomo', was arrested on Thursday and placed under a two-day remand which expires today.
He is being investigated under the Sedition Act.
