Resign, Zahid tells ministers who disagree

Starwars: Dear Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, under the Westminster style of collective responsibility, only the prime minister reserves the right to remove or ask for the resignation of ministers who disagree with the PM on policy matters.

 

A mere minister like you does not have the right to ask fellow ministers to resign.

 

Anyway resignation is only warranted if the minister is unable to agree on policy matters and not when the minister disagrees with an allegedly dishonest prime minister.

 

Headhunter: Umno people never resign. They may not like the driver but they want to stay on the gravy train. 

 

Mosquitobrain: Turtles laughing at tortoises. Zahid should also know that by harbouring an allegedly tainted PM is also not honourable. He, too, should get off the 'pirate ship' without being asked.

 

Tholu: So Zahid, are you saying Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, Shafie Apdal as well as Hishammuddin Hussein, Khairy Jamaluddin and Shabery Cheek should resign from the cabinet?

 

How more convenient can it be for you to be the DPM?

 

Speaking Sense: Zahid, have the courage to say you support 1MDB 100 percent. Otherwise you are disagreeing with Najib Abdul Razak and should resign. And for the sake of the country, the sooner the better.

 

Saphire: Zahid, who told you that all ministers are obliged to agree with the PM? And why should they resign if they disagree with Najib?

 

The onus is on Najib to sack them. After all, ministers’ posts are very lucrative in Malaysia.

But previously when Anwar Ibrahim was sacked by Mahathir, you as the Umno Youth head and henchman for Anwar, went around the country protesting the sacking and even wanted Mahathir to resign until you were arrested and thrown in the Kamunting detention centre.

 

And within days you came out, you said Anwar was the number one enemy of the nation. Remember that?

 

And now you are talking about doing the right thing. It looks like you want Muhyiddin to resign so that you can be No 2.

NewMalaysia: This is hilarious coming from someone who is seen to be laughing the loudest in front of the stage of the leaked video of Muhyiddin’s infamous speech calling for all the 1MDB board of directors to be sacked.

What could be the hidden agenda behind CPHM?

Common Good of Society: Respect must be earned. It cannot be given freely. How can one offer respect to the so-called 'authority' when they are trampling on the federal constitution? How can respect be given when you hijacked the name of ‘Allah’ which predates Islam?

 

How can one give respect when there is no justice and equality? When the nation's resources are being plundered, the loss of RM42 billion by 1MBD, when you can't import BM bibles, and so many other injustices that goes unabated that seems to indicate a lawless government, that politicians are being harassed and arrested when they speak the truth?

 

Christians for Peace and Harmony Malaysia (CPHM) president Rev Wong Kim Kong, many have spoken up against your insidious plan. I agree with the writer, Stephen Ng, 100 percent with his comments.

 

The Observer: We must recognise that there are diverse opinions on issues and strategies in resolving conflict.

 

Some choose confrontation as a strategy while others may choose de-escalation of tension and dialogue as a means to resolve the conflict. Both methods have their merit and their detractors. Both will take time to work through.

 

The important thing is the resolution of the conflict without sacrifice of principles and the ultimate good for the Christian community and the nation as a whole.

 

Moderates on both sides of the political and religious divide need to exercise leadership by coming together to show the way forward. Overcome evil with good.

 

Why not give it a chance, wait it out and see the outcome? What if it works?

 

Tan Kim Keong: If upholding social justice is not the core of its agenda, then the people running the CPHM movement are not worth the salt. They should rename the movement to Appeasement for Peace and Harmony (APHM).
