Tajem faction: 2000 delegates list contains fabricated branches

The year 2000 delegates list, which will be used at the upcoming Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) triennial delegates conference, contains fabricated branches, claimed a leader aligned to president Daniel Tajem.

He accused rival James Masing of only being interested in winning at the conference and predicted that he would quickly form another party if he loses.
"That is why they (the Masing faction) are pushing for the year 2000 delegates list with fabricated branches.
"But the way the mainstream media is reporting it is as if the idea was from the technical committee chairperson, (Radzi Sheikh Ahmad) when he was only being a reasonable man.
"In actual fact, it was Masing who pushed for it and the latter was only considering it after being pressured repeatedly," alleged the leader, who declined to be named.
He said the list contained fabricated branches that were never registered with the Registrar of Societies (ROS).
In view of this, he said former president Leo Moggie, who backed Tajem as his successor, has been explaining to the grassroots about these unforseen circumstances which are not published in the media.
The PBDS leader was responding to Masing's call on Moggie not to get involved in the matter. The latter was also accused of trying to create more problems.
Key Masing man, Richard Will reportedly said Moggie's presence at functions organised by the Tajem faction would "further confuse members rather than initiate peace between the feuding factions".
'Black Boxes'
However, the Tajem-aligned leader said things would be made clear if the PBDS headquarters were allowed to open-up the 'Black Boxes'.
"This will proof to the BN Management Committee without reasonable doubt which faction is actually creating trouble.
The mysterious boxes that once made headlines in local publications contain the reports of the annual general meetings held by branches aligned to Masing.
"If Tajem is guilty, this is because he was reluctant to reply to all the nonsense in the mainstream media and risked his statement being distorted by people with vested interest," he said.
Meanwhile, PBDS deputy president aspirant Joseph Salang insisted that the Tajem faction disagreed with using the entire 2000 delegates' list for the fresh elections scheduled for Oct 9 and 10.
He said the 24 branches that remained unregistered with the Registrar of Societies (ROS) should not take part in the conference while the 28 legally registered branches excluded in the 2000 elections should be allowed to send delegates this time around.
